Who We Are

Burns Camps is a registered charity dedicated to young burns survivors across the United Kingdom. Although formally registered in 2012, our founders have been working with children and young people affected by burn injuries since 1999.

Our Mission

"To build confidence, self-esteem, resilience, and friendships for young burns survivors—regardless of the severity of their injuries or their background."

Why Our Work Matters

A burn injury can lead to years of surgery, skin grafts, relief cuts, reconstructive procedures, and the long process of adapting to a new body image. Many young people experience social isolation, anxiety, and challenges that their peers cannot fully understand.

Our camps bring these children together in a safe, supportive environment where they can:

  • Meet others who truly understand their experiences
  • Share anxieties and frustrations without judgement
  • Build lifelong friendships
  • Discover their confidence through achievable challenges
  • Feel valued, included, and part of a family

National Support

We work across the UK, connecting burns clubs and hospital support groups. By providing national funding and organization, we ensure no child misses out on this vital part of their rehabilitation.

Volunteer Led

Every penny we raise goes directly to the young people. No government funding. No paid staff. Just dedicated volunteers making a difference.
